The 2019 NCAA Tournament brackets have been released and that means it’s time to start scoping out all of the March Madness contests from around the web.
I have a combination of free contests and ones that require a deposit into an online sportsbook to enter. The sportsbooks tend to give out some pretty great prizes, and the entry fee is just a deposit into an account to wager with and isn’t used on the entry.
When entering into these contests, you can either fill one bracket out to use in all of them, or you can mix and match.
If you happen to do really well and submit the same one to each, it could make for an interesting beginning of April if you cash in at multiple places!
I’ll keep this list updated as I learn about more contests this year, but if you have any suggestions just shoot me an email and I’ll get it posted.
Remember to bookmark this page and send it to your friends, family, or anyone else who will be interested in filling out brackets this year. Why not help them enter free contests to earn some money?
Also, be sure to check out my bracket to see my Final Four picks and National Champion.
Top Online March Madness Tournament Challenges 2019
ESPN
ESPN is one of the easiest and most popular brackets to fill out. Their grand prizes this year are trips to the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii and a trip up to the ESPN campus in Bristol, CT for a tour of their facilities. Because they have so many entries, the top percentage of brackets are placed in a pool and winners drawn at random. This makes it one of the most difficult to win, but also gives you pretty amazing bragging rights if you manage to submit one of their best brackets.
Yahoo
Yahoo’s contest offers a $1,000,000 prize to the best bracket this year. You can enter up to ten times. This is probably the most straight-forward and biggest prize you’ll find for a free entry, but there will be some massive competition so make sure to bring your ‘A’ game!
CBS Sports
As an official bracket partner of the NCAA Tournament, CBS is offering an all-expenses paid trip to the 2020 Final Four. The Prize includes four tickets to the semi-finals and finals, plus $6,000 in cash for luxury hotel accommodations and airfare.
In addition to the traditional bracket, CBS also has a “round-by-round” contest, where six people get a chance to score tickets to next year’s Final Four (semi finals and finals), but just $500 of expenses paid for.

Paid March Madness Bracket Pools With Huge Prizes
5Dimes
Thinking about picking a perfect bracket this year? 5Dimes is where you want to enter that bracket! This online sportsbook does collect an entry fee for their contests, however, the prizes are well-worth it if you happen to pick perfection.
- $25 entry fee – Perfect Bracket pays $25,000,000
- $10 – $10,000,000
- $5 – $5,000,000
- $1 – $1,000,000
5Dimes will also hosts a number of pools with 100% payouts to the top brackets, the more entries, the more you stand to win!
Bookmaker
You will need an account and a $100 deposit (or more) to enter Bookmaker’s Perfect Bracket Challenge. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be eligible for the grand prize $1 million perfect bracket payout. Even if you fall short of filling out everything correctly, there are still some great prizes to be won. First place takes home $10,000 in cash, second gets $5,000, and third is paid $2,500. All entries receive additional loyalty BetPoints to their account based on where they finish!
BetOnline
BetOnline is putting up $10,000 in cash prizes for their Bracket Madness contest. Top prize is $3,500 with second through fifth receiving $2,500, $2,000, $1,500, and $500, respectively. To enter, you’ll need a BetOnline account with at least $50 of real money wagered in each of the three weeks of the tournament.
WagerWeb
WagerWeb brings back their $1,000,000 Mayhem contest, which has a bit of a different spin. Instead of simply filling out a bracket, each team is assigned a point value and the most points accumulated at the end of the tournament wins the contest. Be sure to check the details out on eligibility for this one as soon as the information is available!

The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, or March Madness, is upon us once again. The annual event also heralds the fact that bracket contests are running all over the place. We’ve combed through them, and found the five best FREE March Madness bracket contests.
FanDuel Sportsbook Bracket Madness
In 2019, FanDuel Sportsbook awarded $250,000 to those who scored the highest in the site’s March Madness bracket competition. The top bracket won a massive prize of $100,000.
Online Bracket Pool
This contest was both completely free to enter and open to residents in all 50 states. In order to play, all one had to do was register for a free FanDuel account. Then, make sure to fill out a bracket before tip-off in the first round of the tournament.

We expect another big bracket contest from FanDuel in 2021, so stay tuned.
DraftKings Sportsbook Brackets
DraftKings Sportsbook is one of the top online sportsbooks in the US right now. So, it’s fitting that the site has opened its app to the entire country for March Madness.
Brackets is a free-to-enter March Madness contest that promises big bucks for a group of players. Anyone in the US can join the contest. In 2019, participants compete for their share of $64,000.
Additionally, players in New Jersey had an additional opportunity to win big money. For only $20, Garden Staters had the opportunity to play for a separate $100,000 prize pool.

Yahoo Best Bracket Millionaire
Yahoo Sports annually offers one of the simplest and most direct bracket contests available. Like other “mainstream” sites, however, there is less divvying of the prize pool.
As its name implies, Yahoo’s Best Bracket Millionaire contest will award the top bracket a cool million dollars. To that end, there are no catches — the rules even mention a lump-sum check for $1 million.
However, that’s the only prize that Yahoo! is offering to its players. So, to paraphrase Maverick, there’s going to be an awful lot of broken hearts at the end of the contest.
Nevertheless, it’s a free shot at a million bucks, so why not take it? After all, somebody has to win.
ESPN – Tournament Challenge
ESPN unsurprisingly has its own tournament challenge. In 2019, the “worldwide leader” awarded $22,950 in prizes to players in the contest.
However, ESPN is also the most corporate of sports organizations. So, fittingly, its corporate relationships preclude it from the largesse of some of the other contests.
In fact, according to the contest rules, ESPN must award prizes that are both somewhat randomly distributed and are not actually cash. So, the combination of a Hawaii trip and site subscriptions are the basis of the company’s prize pool.
First prize for ESPN’s Tournament Challenge in 2019 was a five-night trip for two to the Maui Jim Invitational basketball tournament in 2020. The prize also included $10,000 in Amazon gift cards.
The prize winner was picked from a random drawing of the top brackets in the contest. ESPN selected from the top 1 percent of returns to generate a winner.
Additionally, 60 randomly-drawn players in the top 3 groups won ESPN+ subscriptions.
What will ESPN offer in its Tournament Challenge in 2021? We’ll update you here as soon as we know.
Caesars March Pick’em Challenge
Caesars Casino offered an excellent prize giveaway for March Madness in 2019. Unfortunately, the March Pick’em Challenge was only available in New Jersey, so it bears only an honorable mention on this list.
Nevertheless, those who are in or near the Garden State could compete for more than $50,000 in cash and prizes. In fact, everyone who filled out a bracket on the Caesars was awarded a free $20 sports bet.
As with other bracket contests, players accrued points based upon their correct selections in their brackets. Caesars awarded prizes using a simple leaderboard.
The first-place finisher won an outstanding prize – a $250 sports bet every week for an entire year! Second place received a similar deal, only for $100 per week. And the third-place finisher got a Las Vegas vacation.
Other prizes included smaller, single free bets and stays at Caesars Atlantic City.
