Shelton is known as the country star — and he does have some country talent here — but these three stars are the trio bettors will want to monitor from his team.

For me, it’s Cali Wilson. She has exceptional musical talent and doesn’t have any glaring weaknesses. She’s already pushed through to the next round, too, where it’s likely her artistry and story could see her thrive in front of the nation.

Blake’s bae has a mighty fine team of her own. Gwen Stefani has a strong collection of talent, spearheaded by Kyndal Inskeep’s emotional story, layered tone, and unmistakable power.

While Inskeep is probably the best overall talent of this group, this team is positively loaded. Jake HaldenVang gives this team a truly iconic rock n’ roll voice to lean on, while Myracle Holloway has a nice blend of rasp and power.

Oh, and Joana Martinez may be one of the best The Voice sleepers to bet on once odds pop up.

Inskeep’s cover of Sia’s “Elastic Heart” wavered down the stretch, but she flashed brilliance during her Knockouts performance. If she can tie up loose ends, she may be the most complete singer Team Gwen has to offer.

Las Vegas Odds On The Voice Winner

Kelly Clarkson squads are best known for their pop appeal and power, but she really has a diverse group this season. She’s no rookie when it comes to this competition, either, as she’s fielded some very fierce teams and has stolen first place twice.

Team Kelly looks like a threat based on the singers she’s gathered together, and the effortless Alex Guthrie tells you right away that Clarkson is not biased to strictly just power.

Clarkson’s eclectic team also includes the only duo on The Voice this season — Hello Sunday — while Shane Q is impossible not to root for.

Clarkson’s team really is jammed up with capable talent, but nobody has better range, stage presence, or versatility than Alex Guthrie. I don’t think he’s met a song he can’t crush, while he always seems so in control.

Hello Sunday is absurdly impressive for two girls in their early teens, but experience and technique should have Guthrie trump them and the rest of the competition in this team.

John Legend is here to defend his title from a season ago, but he’s got the fewest singers left after the Knockouts got going. That doesn’t mean he can’t win, of course, as he has sensational power via the unique Katie Kadan and the impressive Khalea Lynee.

Marybeth Byrd is very interesting, as she has a commanding stage presence and appears unafraid of the big moments. She also has a lot of power and a nice tone that allows her to dance between pop and country.

I’m going to roll with upside here and say Preston C. Howell is the best bet to emerge out of Team Legend. He’s only 15, but he’s wise beyond his years, taking criticism and suggestions in stride.

Howell seemed like a one-trick pony as he breathed Michael Buble vibes in his Blind Audition performance (which, by the way, is great by itself), but he really showed his versatility and upside by besting the equally impressive Mendeleyev.

Top Favorites to Win The Voice 17

At this stage of the competition, it’s still anyone’s ballgame. The Knockouts aren’t even over as I write this, the top entertainment betting websites haven’t yet assigned odds, and so much can change in a week’s time.

But I wanted to get ahead of things here and point to some great The Voice sleepers as well as the top favorites.

It’s relatively early in the process yet, but the big names that stand out for me are as follows.

These are four extremely talented singers who all have nice tones, have proven to be versatile, aren’t scared of the bright lights, and are open to new challenges. That gives bettors one viable favorite from each team, but there are obviously going to be more threats as the show goes on.

There is always going to be value in monitoring sleepers, just because anything can happen once you put the power into the hands of viewers at the live shows.

Artists can also gain momentum depending on song choices and what coaching tips they choose to accept or deny. All of that being said, my favorite sleepers are as follows.

Martinez has amazing power and just needs to clean things up a bit and be more consistent. Her voice is of the chills-giving variety, however.

Duran just has stellar stage presence, is in total control, and doesn’t make mistakes. He doesn’t have the best voice in this competition, but it’s very good, and he’s technically sound.

Hammock sounds like Norah Jones, and she’s a musician. That gets her a bonus, and if she can be more consistent, she could be a dangerous threat down the stretch.

Hello Sunday is tough to gauge because this is a tandem of two very young girls who are inexperienced. They’ve passed with flying colors to this point, though. Their harmonies are impeccable, and they both have strengths that complement each other very well.

I also can’t ignore Kadan, who has so much power, range, and attitude. Her personality really comes out in her performances, and she also has a wonderful story.

While not my pick to win The Voice, my number one sleeper of this group has to be Martinez. It’s pretty arguable she didn’t really “lose” her Knockouts performance. She’s very young at 15, but young performers win reality TV singing shows all the time.

Martinez performs at an advanced level given her age, and you can go back to her Blind Audition, which lightly touched on her awesome potential.

There is so much sleeper appeal right now, but the rest of the Knockouts will start to trim the fat a bit, and we’ll really start to see who can win this thing.

I can’t wait to see actual odds for who will win season 17 of The Voice, but I’d be somewhat shocked if my personal favorites — Cali Wilson, Kyndal Inskeep, Alex Guthrie, and Preston C. Howell — weren’t graded near the top of the competition.

This year’s competition is loaded, but I think tone, range, stage presence, polish, and versatility make Alex Guthrie the total package to beat this year.

Guthrie is a true artist, he is a musician, and he has displayed the ability to hit just about anything he takes on out of the park. Again, it’s really early, but he may be the most fundamentally sound and diverse artist in this competition.
